Advanced Technology

Precision Dentistry

When you seek care at our office, you are assured that Dr. Young and our team utilize the latest in technology to enhance the quality of your dental treatment.

Our practice uses high power magnification loupes to enhance the precision of our work.

Dentistry is micro-surgery. Using loupes similar to those used by an ophthalmologist enables us to create incredibly precise dental restorations. You just can’t achieve that level of care with the naked eye.

Digital X-Rays

Dr. Young carefully chooses when radiographs are taken. There are many guidelines that we follow. Radiographs allow us to see everything we cannot see with our own eyes. Radiographs enable us to detect cavities in between your teeth, determine bone level, and analyze the health of your bone. We can also examine the roots and nerves of teeth, diagnose lesions such as cysts or tumors, as well as assess damage when trauma occurs.

Dental radiographs are invaluable aids in diagnosing, treating, and maintaining dental health. Digital X-rays offer more precision since we view the image on a computer monitor, instead of holding film up to the light. Digital X-rays result in 1/6 of the radiation exposure and 50 percent less exposure time to you compared to traditional dental x-rays.

Digital imaging allows us to store patient images and enables us to quickly and easily transfer them to specialists or insurance companies.

Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT)

CBCT has revolutionized imaging for dentistry. It offers extremely detailed 3D images that are used for TMJ analysis, evaluation of airway, endodontics, and for treatment planning for dental implants and other complex cases.

CBCT is fast, non-invasive, and painless. It aids in diagnosis and treatment planning by providing detailed information on the teeth and tissues surrounding the teeth. Dr. Young utilizes CBCT scanning at our office.

Intraoral Scanner

Intraoral scanners allow us to take digital impressions that lead to extremely accurate 3D images for crown and bridge and other restorative dental treatments. The intraoral scanner collects thousands of images when the pen-like scanner is placed in the mouth and is much more comfortable for the patient. These detailed images are then used by the dental lab to create a one-of-a-kind precise fit for our patients.

Intraoral Camera

Dr. Young utilizes intraoral camera technology that helps enhance your understanding of your diagnosis. An intraoral camera is a very small camera – in some cases, just a few millimeters long. An intraoral camera allows our team to view clear, precise images of your mouth, teeth and gums, in order for us to accurately make a diagnosis. With clear, defined, enlarged images, you see details that may be missed by standard mirror examinations. This can mean faster diagnosis with less chair-time for you!
